STAR LAKE CAMP (d.b.a. Star Lake Wilderness Camp)

Star Lake Wilderness Camp (operating as Star Lake Camp) is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) that operates a primitive, small-group wilderness camp on a large forested property in central Minnesota and maintains a year‑round presence with a winter office in Saint Paul, MN. The organization runs outdoor residential programs (sleepaway tent camping, canoeing, swimming, hiking, team-building and nature education) with an emphasis on serving youth who are traditionally underserved or face barriers to outdoor access.

Programming includes general youth adventure weeks, family camps, culturally focused Somali youth weeks, and specialty clinical partnerships such as Star Lake Out Loud (a wilderness camp program for children who stutter). The organization operates a scholarship/campership approach so families may pay what they can afford, and it combines recreation, environmental stewardship, and clinical support to promote confidence, social growth, and nature literacy among participating youth.
