VIA ART FUND INC

VIA Art Fund is a New York–based 501(c)(3) philanthropic arts organization founded in 2013 that supports contemporary visual art through collective, donor-driven grantmaking. VIA focuses on funding the production, exhibition, public presentation, and institutional acquisition of new works of art, with particular emphasis on projects outside traditional exhibition environments. The organization operates several programs including Artistic Production grants, a Curatorial Fellowship, Gifts to Museums, and (through 2023) an Incubator grants program; it combines a participatory patron model with formal grant rounds to amplify impact. VIA has been actively awarding multi-year grant rounds and, in the last 2–3 years, announced high-profile awardees and continued multi-hundred-thousand-dollar grant rounds demonstrating ongoing, active grantmaking. VIA’s staff and volunteer leadership include a small professional team and a board and leadership circle of patrons; the organization is widely recognized in arts media for its risk-tolerant, artist-centered approach and continues to collaborate with other funders to scale grant dollars and reach.
