About Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats

Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats (LFFAC) is an all‑volunteer 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 46-1620861) that provides Trap‑Neuter‑Return (TNR), colony management, fostering and socialization, adoptions, and community education to reduce cat overpopulation and improve welfare for community cats in the Longmont area.

LFFAC operates a leased shelter facility used for socializing, medical care, and fostering under‑socialized or abandoned cats; it works directly with local caregivers to manage colonies and runs regular volunteer, donation, and fundraising programs to support ongoing TNR and adoption efforts.

Notable achievements

501(c)(3) recognition (2013)

Achieved formal nonprofit 501(c)(3) status, establishing LFFAC as a tax‑exempt public charity and enabling expanded fundraising and grant eligibility.

Shelter facility and PACFA upgrade

Added a leased shelter facility (2018) and upgraded to a PACFA Shelter license (2020), allowing expanded fostering, socialization, and in‑house care for at‑risk cats.

Sustained grant support and program growth (2022–2025)

Secured multiple grants and major donations in recent years (including sizable gifts and foundation grants from 2022 through 2025) that funded medical care, facility improvements, and colony support, enabling continued TNR, fostering, and adoption activity.
