About WARRIOR DOG FOUNDATION

The Warrior Dog Foundation is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2013 by former U.S. Navy SEAL Mike Ritland to rehabilitate, care for, and rehome retired military, contract, and law enforcement working dogs. The organization operates a sanctuary and state‑of‑the‑art kennel facility that serves as a sanctuary of last resort for K9s that cannot safely return to handlers or be placed in conventional adoption situations. In recent years the foundation has continued active rehabilitation and placement work: the organization reports having rehabilitated and rehomed over 170 K9s and maintains ongoing adoption and “home with handler” placement programs. Fiscal-year filings through 2024 show continued fundraising and program activity consistent with an operating, donor-facing charity.
