Traffic Injury Research Foundation USA, Inc. (TIRF USA) is an independent road‑safety research institute and registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2013 to meet the needs of U.S. funders, stakeholders and partners that use research and programs developed by the Traffic Injury Research Foundation of Canada. It operates as a donor-facing organization with a public web presence and a giving/donor center.
TIRF USA conducts applied research, program evaluation, surveys, crash analysis, and develops educational tools and resources for policymakers, practitioners and the public. In the last 2–3 years the organization has chaired the U.S. National Distracted Driving Coalition, produced its ongoing Annual Ignition Interlock Reports and state datasets, and completed state-level ignition interlock evaluations and technology assessments for transportation agencies.
