About Girl Develop It
Girl Develop It is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides affordable, judgment‑free programming and career support so women and non‑binary adults can learn web and software development. The organization centers hands‑on instruction, mentorship, and community-building to increase representation in technology.
Since its founding in 2010, GDI has engaged a large, national audience through local chapters and a national virtual program model; the organization reports six-figure participation over its history and moved to a predominantly virtual program model beginning in 2020.
In the last 2–3 years GDI has continued to deliver a high volume of live and hybrid classes, run recurring career-focused events (including hackathons and Career Conversations), and maintain active chapter programming across the U.S., positioning itself as a consistent training and community resource for learners and early-career technologists.
