About ISLAH LA

Islah LA is an inner‑city, Muslim‑founded community center based in South Los Angeles that grew out of the Masjid Ibaadillah community and formally organized as a nonprofit in 2013. It offers faith-based social services, youth and family programming, an independent school (Islah Academy), a weekly food pantry, and supportive housing programs. In recent years Islah LA has expanded partnerships with local relief networks and institutional funders, published an annual report covering 2023–2024 activity, and operated multiple housing sites and ongoing food distribution that serve hundreds of local households each month. Leadership emphasizes culturally grounded, holistic services aimed at reducing food insecurity, supporting reentry and housing stability, and improving educational outcomes for children in South LA.
