About Project Sleep

Project Sleep is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Los Angeles that raises awareness, provides education, and advocates for sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders. The organization operates public programs (including the Rising Voices advocate-training program, World Narcolepsy Day activities, and the Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship), a Sleep Helpline, and targeted awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and improve access to diagnosis and care.

In the last 2–3 years Project Sleep expanded direct-impact programming and advocacy: it continued its Rising Voices speaker trainings, scaled its Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship (record awards in 2024), and led federal advocacy that resulted in a March 20, 2026 congressional letter supported by 28 U.S. Representatives calling for foundational sleep education and awareness. Project Sleep publishes annual impact reports and makes its Form 990 filings available to the public.

Notable achievements

Rising Voices advocate training

Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship growth

Project Sleep’s Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship program reached a record year in 2024, awarding 37 $1,000 scholarships to college-bound students with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia and growing the program’s cumulative awards to more than 200 scholarships since its founding.

Federal advocacy milestone (March 20, 2026)

Project Sleep led advocacy efforts contributing to a congressional letter (dated March 20, 2026) signed by 28 Representatives urging the creation of a foundational sleep education and awareness program at the CDC, demonstrating recent success in advancing sleep policy awareness at the federal level.
