About Hope for the Community

Hope for the Community is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) food shelf and humanitarian organization founded in 2010 and operating out of the Blaine area. It provides free groceries and emergency food assistance through a network of community and campus locations across the Twin Cities. In 2024 the organization reported serving approximately 96,000 families and distributing about 2.3 million pounds of groceries, operating multiple satellite sites and serving roughly 1,800 families per week. The organization is led by founder Dr. Alan Goracke and works with regional food banks and hunger-relief partners to source food, volunteers and grant support.
