PLANET BEE FOUNDATION

Planet Bee Foundation is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers hands-on environmental STEM education, community science projects, and stewardship programs centered on bees and pollinator habitat. The organization partners with schools, community groups, and corporations to provide free, NGSS-aligned lessons, teacher toolkits, and stewardship kits that translate science learning into tangible conservation actions. In recent years Planet Bee has expanded nationally: its impact reporting shows program delivery across dozens of U.S. states and multiple countries, an emphasis on Title I and underserved schools, and a mix of virtual and onsite programming that includes community science monitoring, native bee nest projects, and corporate Adopt-a-Hive and team-building partnerships. Leadership transitioned in late 2024 with Dr. Jamie Chan named Executive Director while founder Debra Tomaszewski moved into a development role, supporting continued growth and partnership development. The foundation publishes measurable outcomes from its evaluations (2024 program results reported high student engagement and knowledge gains) and maintains active corporate and community partnerships that fund no-cost programming, stewardship grants, and hands-on kits for classrooms and community sites.
