About AURORA SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL

Aurora Sister Cities International (ASCI) is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 46-4347681) that builds and manages sister- and friendship-city partnerships to foster cultural understanding, youth leadership, education and municipal best-practice exchange.

ASCI operates working groups and programs (youth exchange, professional women, business & trade committees, arts and culture projects) that connect Aurora with partner cities including Adama (Ethiopia), Seongnam (South Korea), Chihuahua (Mexico) and Patan (Nepal).

In the last 2–3 years ASCI has expanded programming and partnerships — formalizing a sister-city agreement with Chihuahua (Dec 2023), securing recurring youth scholarships from the Korean Senior Foundation, hosting Global Fest (2024) and conducting delegation visits and community events in 2024–2025 that advanced student exchange, business outreach and cultural programming.

Notable achievements

Chihuahua Sister City Agreement

Supported Aurora’s formal sister‑city relationship with Chihuahua, Mexico (agreement activity finalized Dec 2023) and helped coordinate subsequent city‑level meetings and a 2025 delegation to Chihuahua to advance economic, education and public safety collaboration.

Korean Senior Foundation scholarship

Secured a recurring $5,000 scholarship (awarded Apr 18, 2025) to fund student participation in the Seongnam youth conference and related educational exchanges.

Expanded youth and community programming

Delivered multi‑year youth conferences, Global Fest (Aug 2024) and community commemorations (e.g., Adwa celebration) that increased participation and strengthened ties between Aurora and partner cities.
