About INNERACT PROJECT INC
Inneract Project is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to increase racial and socioeconomic diversity in design by providing hands-on design education, mentorship, stipend-based learning opportunities, and exposure to industry pathways for Black, Latinx, and other underrepresented young people. The organization runs programs and initiatives—such as its UPLIFT mentorship platform and a Summer Design Camp—designed to build portfolios, offer real-world project experience, and connect students with working designers and corporate partners. In recent years Inneract Project has expanded in-person programming after a period of virtual delivery, piloting a Summer Design Camp in December 2024 that served 27 students and provided stipends to completers, and announcing plans to scale that camp in 2025. The organization is an established public charity (tax-exempt since 2015) that files annual Form 990s; recent filings show materially different revenue and expense levels year-to-year (FY2023 reported roughly $616k revenue and ~$774k expenses, with a net deficit; FY2024 filings report lower revenue and higher program expenses), reflecting active program growth alongside fiscal variability.
