Fort Collins Reads
Fort Collins Reads seeks to strengthen the community through reading and civil discussion by organizing an annual citywide One Book read and related literacy programming that promote understanding, diversity, and tolerance.
About Fort Collins Reads
Fort Collins Reads is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 46-5254013) founded in 2002 that organizes a citywide One Book program centered on an annual author presentation and year-round literacy activities.
The organization selects a single book each year to spark community conversation, brings nationally recognized authors to Fort Collins for public presentations, and runs complementary programs such as a student writing contest and a Little Free Library recirculation program.
In recent years Fort Collins Reads has continued active community engagement: the organization hosted Brendan Slocumb for the 2023 read, R.F. Kuang for the 2024 read, held an active student writing contest in 2024, and staged its 2025 author event (Kirsten Miller) on November 1, 2025.
