About YOUNG WOMENS PREPARATORY NETWORK
Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with Texas public school districts to create and support all-girls, college-preparatory 6–12 campuses. The organization provides funding, programmatic support, college advising, leadership development, and supplemental STEM and wellness programming to district-operated schools. YWPN operates the largest network of public all-girls schools in the United States, working with multiple Independent School Districts across Texas to serve middle- and high-school students primarily from low-income households and communities of color. The network reports strong college outcomes for graduates and maintains system-level supports (teacher development, college success advising, and enrichment events) to sustain postsecondary attainment. In the last 2–3 years YWPN has expanded its network, hosted recurring statewide STEAM programming for students, and secured multi-year philanthropic investments to scale STEM and college-readiness services across its campuses (including a major grant to integrate Dallas ISD’s Young Women’s STEAM Academy into the network).
Notable achievements
100% High School Graduation & College Acceptance
YWPN reports that network graduates achieve a 100% high school graduation rate and college acceptance; the statewide Class of 2023 (412 students) earned more than $90 million in academic and merit-based scholarships.
Network Growth — 11 Campuses Serving Thousands
YWPN has grown to support 11 all-girls public campuses across Texas and, in recent materials, reports serving roughly 5,700 students in grades 6–12 through partnerships with multiple ISDs.
Major STEM Investment & STEAM Expansion
The Texas Instruments Foundation committed a multi-year $2 million grant to support the Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs joining the network and expanding STEM programming, campus-based college advising, staff development, and student supports.
