About OPPORTUNITY INTERNATIONAL NICARAGUA INC

Opportunity International Nicaragua is a U.S.-chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Fort Worth, Texas, that implements Community Economic Development programs in rural Nicaragua. Its work combines technical K–12 vocational education, agricultural value-chain development, and community-led savings/credit and infrastructure projects to increase incomes and local leadership capacity.

Programs include Emprendedora Technical High School (technical degrees in sustainable agriculture and sustainable tourism), an agricultural program that links smallholder farmers to processing and markets (cassava value chains), and community development initiatives such as savings groups and local infrastructure projects. The organization also operates partnerships with social enterprises (for example Pacaya Lodge) to create vocational internships and operating income that support local education and training.

Social-enterprise partnership (Pacaya Lodge)
