COLORADO POVERTY LAW PROJECT
The Colorado Poverty Law Project’s mission is to prevent homelessness through legal representation, education, and advocacy.
About COLORADO POVERTY LAW PROJECT
Colorado Poverty Law Project (CPLP) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects low-income Coloradans facing eviction and housing injustice with free legal representation, clinics, housing navigation, and policy advocacy. CPLP was founded by attorneys (including Tom Snyder and Blair Kanis) and is organized around a staff of attorneys, intake specialists, housing navigators, and a network of volunteer attorneys who provide direct legal services and know-your-rights trainings across the state.
CPLP operates targeted programs including eviction legal defense, mobile home resident advocacy, a Fair Housing Initiative, a Benefits Assistance program, and a Gender Advocacy in Housing Initiative to support tenant victim-survivors of gender-based violence. The organization partners with courts, local governments, and community groups to provide on-site legal clinics and to support legislative and policy work that protects tenants and prevents homelessness.
