About Academy Project (The Academy Project)

The Academy Project is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (founded 2015) that delivers free out-of-school enrichment, academic support, and community-building services for foster, unhoused, and other underserved youth. Programs prioritize art enrichment, reading remediation, social-emotional skill building, and stable mentorship to improve academic and life outcomes. Founded and led by an executive director with child-welfare experience, the organization operates a no-cost after-school program (The Co-Op), a summer day camp (Camp Xavier), and partner-based services across Los Angeles. Over the past decade TAP reports having positively impacted several hundred youth and continues to expand program offerings and fundraising capacity into recent years.
