About LOS ANGELES CENTER FOR COMMUNITY LAW AND ACTION

The Los Angeles Center for Community Law and Action (LACCLA) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2014 that provides free legal services alongside tenant organizing to prevent displacement and protect housing rights in Los Angeles. LACCLA operates a mix of direct legal representation (eviction defense, habitability and fair housing matters), weekly community clinics and membership-based tenant organizing to support low-income families and tenants of color. In the last 2–3 years LACCLA has expanded its programmatic footprint through city contracting and foundation support, participated as a provider in eviction-defense efforts in Los Angeles, and reported significantly increased program service activity and revenue growth in its most recent fiscal filings. The organization maintains an active web presence, regular community meetings and partnerships with local tenant unions and community groups to advance housing justice.
