About GROUNDWORK JACKSONVILLE INC

Groundwork Jacksonville is the city’s nonprofit partner dedicated to restoring urban creeks, building connected parks and trails (the Emerald Trail) and supporting neighborhood resilience. The organization was incorporated in 2014 and its EIN (47-2342111) has been confirmed in public nonprofit and state corporate filings.

Advancement of the Emerald Trail (LaVilla Link and other segments)

Led design and construction advancement for multiple Emerald Trail segments (including the LaVilla Link), mobilizing public and private partners to convert underused corridors into connected trails and public green space.

Home Repair Program — 37 homes served

Launched a neighborhood home repair initiative to prevent displacement in North Riverside, Mixon Town and Lackawanna; the program has benefited 37 owner‑occupied homes with repairs and resiliency upgrades funded through grant partnerships.

CREST workforce & stewardship training

Operates CREST (Community Restoration Environmental Stewardship Training), an intergenerational workforce and stewardship program that trains residents (including youth ages 11–18) in water monitoring, habitat restoration and stewardship roles tied to local creek restoration.
