HOUSTON'S CAPITAL INVESTING IN DEVELOPMENT & EMPLOYMENT OF ADULTS, INC. (Capital IDEA Houston)

Capital IDEA Houston (legal name: Houston's Capital Investing in Development & Employment of Adults, Inc.) is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) workforce intermediary that fully funds education and training for underemployed adults and connects graduates to higher-paying careers. The organization partners with community colleges, healthcare systems, employers, and government funders to provide wraparound supports—case management, academic guidance, and placement services—designed to remove barriers to completion. Since sponsoring its first cohort in 2010 and incorporating as an independent nonprofit in 2015, Capital IDEA Houston has enrolled multiple cohorts across short-term training and college degree pathways and reports more than 1,000 graduates. In the last several years the organization has expanded employer and institutional partnerships and secured multi-year grants and public contracts to scale up upskilling programs and industry-specific training (notably allied health, maritime/logistics, and construction trades).
