About THE RATTLESNAKE CONSERVANCY INC

The Rattlesnake Conservancy is a Jacksonville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rattlesnake conservation through science, education, and hands-on training. Awarded a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Recovery Challenge Grant to support conservation and recovery work for the Arizona/New Mexico ridge‑nosed rattlesnake, providing targeted funding for field actions and species recovery planning.

Established annual conservation grant program

Since 2020 the organization has operated an annual Venomous Reptile Conservation Grant program (awards up to $5,000, renewable) that funds on-the-ground research and monitoring projects for rattlesnake species across the Americas.

Large-scale venomous-handling training reach

Developed and delivered a multi-level venomous-handling certification program that has trained thousands of students (the organization reports more than 2,000 attendees) including land managers, first responders, biologists, and zoo/veterinary staff.
