About Golden Optimists Bicycle Recycle Program

The Golden Optimists Bicycle Recycle Program is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) community bike shop in Golden, Colorado that refurbishes donated bicycles and places them back into use for people who need affordable transportation, exercise, or recreation.

The program operates a repair shop, sells refurbished bikes at low cost to sustain operations, and gives a significant portion of repaired bikes away free through partnerships with local schools, social service programs, refugee resettlement groups, and community outreach trips.

Since its founding the program has repaired thousands of bicycles and continues to run regular shop hours, donation drives, volunteer training, and targeted giveaway efforts to maximize reuse and community benefit.
