MIDTOWN IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Midtown Improvement and Development Corporation (doing business as Midtown Houston) is a non-profit special-district management organization that plans, programs, and implements public-improvement, arts, parks, and economic-development initiatives in the Midtown area of Houston. The organization manages day-to-day operations for affiliated entities including the Midtown Redevelopment Authority, Midtown Management District, and Midtown Parks Conservancy, and owns/operates key parks and public spaces. Midtown focuses on creating a walkable, culturally vibrant district through park management and programming, public art and cultural events, business grant programs, public-space improvements, and public-safety and quality-of-life services. In recent years Midtown has led public-art projects that include employment pathways for unhoused Houstonians, expanded park programming, and continuing economic-support grants for local businesses.
