About MENTORING PARTNERSHIP OF NEW YORK INC (dba MENTOR New York)

MENTOR New York (formerly Mentoring Partnership of New York) is a New York–based nonprofit affiliate of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership that works to expand and strengthen mentoring for young people across New York State. The organization provides training, technical assistance, program consultation, and tools that help community programs, schools, businesses, and government embed quality mentoring where youth live, learn, work and play. Under the leadership of its executive team, MENTOR New York supports mentor recruitment, practitioner professional development, racial equity work, and statewide initiatives (including an annual MENTOR of the Year awards program) to elevate and sustain one-to-one and group mentoring relationships for young people.

Statewide Network Reach

Maintains a large statewide network that connects youth and programs—partnering with over 1,300 mentoring programs across New York State to help match young people with appropriate mentoring opportunities.

Professional Development Scale

Delivers research-based training and learning opportunities at scale, training more than 1,500 staff, volunteers and practitioners each year through webinars, workshops, and on-site technical assistance.

CoGen Challenge Award (2024)

Received a CoGen Challenge award for an intergenerational financial-literacy project that brought high school students and older adults together in Queens for workshops and a symposium to build economic knowledge and cross-generational connections (project work conducted in 2024).
