About INTERVENTIONAL INITIATIVE

The Interventional Initiative is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes awareness, access, and informed decision-making about minimally invasive, image-guided procedures (MIIPs). It produces public-facing multimedia (including the docuseries Without a Scalpel), develops evidence-based patient decision aids and clinician resources, and distributes low-cost printed materials to support clinician–patient conversations. Founded in 2015 by clinicians and health‑education professionals, the organization expanded its patient education and informed-consent initiatives during and after the COVID‑19 period. In recent years it has continued producing and distributing decision aids and media content (including international storytelling partnerships) and has received institutional grant support to scale its patient-centered programs.
