The Burkard School

The Burkard School is an independent 501(c)(3) K–8 nonprofit school in San Mateo, California, built for bright students who need additional support with self-regulation, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning. Classrooms are intentionally small (no more than about 10 students in elementary and about 12 in middle school) and are co-led by a certified educator and a dedicated behavior specialist so students receive both high academic expectations and consistent behavioral supports.
