About Free The Oppressed (DBA Free Burma Rangers)
Free The Oppressed (FTO), commonly known by its field name Free Burma Rangers (FBR), is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with local ethnic teams to deliver humanitarian relief, medical care, and trauma support in active conflict zones.
FTO/FBR trains, equips, and coordinates small mobile relief teams composed of local volunteers and provides emergency medical evacuation, distribution of food and shelter supplies, child outreach programs, and human‑rights reporting across Burma (Myanmar) and in other countries where teams are invited.
In recent years the organization has maintained regular field operations, published weekly dispatches and annual reports, and continued training programs and medical school activities while expanding short rotations to additional crisis areas (including Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Tajikistan, Afghanistan).

Continued multi‑month Servant Leadership and Ranger training with recent graduations (for example, a January 2024 graduation of 165 new Rangers) to expand field capacity.

Maintained regular frontline missions providing medical evacuations, emergency care, and relief distributions in Burma and other conflict zones while documenting human‑rights violations.
Annual reporting and medical school outputs
Publishes yearly annual reports and Jungle School of Medicine reports that summarize field activity, training, and program impact for recent reporting years.
