About IGNITE AFTERSCHOOL

Ignite Afterschool is Minnesota’s statewide afterschool network that supports out-of-school-time (OST) programs, youth workers, and community partners to expand access to high-quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities. The organization advances policy, leads continuous program improvement and accreditation work, and delivers professional development and training resources for youth-serving staff across Minnesota.

In the last several years Ignite has played a statewide program and grant-management role—partnering with state agencies and funders to direct resources to community-based providers—and has launched new statewide professional development platforms and accreditation supports to strengthen program quality and workforce capacity.

Notable achievements

Administrator of statewide Believe & Build grants

Served as the managing partner for a multi-million dollar statewide grant program to expand and strengthen afterschool and summer learning programs, directing funding and technical assistance to community-based organizations prioritized for equity and access.

Launched Professional Development Exchange (PDX)

Developed and launched the PDX statewide learning platform and ran multiple Training-of-Trainers (ToT) sessions to build trainer capacity, training dozens of program managers and coordinators and creating peer-learning communities for ongoing workforce development.

I-SAC accreditation & continuous improvement support

Operates the I-SAC school-age care accreditation and continuous program improvement processes, supporting multiple school-age sites to maintain or achieve accreditation and delivering cohort-based coaching and program-quality assessments.
