About HAWAII GLOBAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Hawaii Global Education Foundation (HGEF) is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 2015 to support study tours and cultural-exchange programs that broaden global perspectives for Hawaiian youth and visiting student groups. It provides trip planning, on-site coordination and language assistance for study tours and exchange activities, with a strong emphasis on school partnerships and Japan–Hawaii exchanges. HGEF has been actively running programs and exchanges in recent years, including multiple school study tours and summer programs in 2024–2026 (examples include Honouliuli Middle School, Mililani Middle School, Stevenson Middle School, Fukuoka Kyusyu Sangyo University, and KSU/UH programs). The organization works across Oʻahu and other islands to connect local schools with international partners and to host visiting student groups. HGEF maintains public nonprofit registration and annual filings in Hawaii, operates a public website with news and program reports, and has continued program activity and school partnerships within the last 2–3 years, demonstrating ongoing, donor-facing operations.
