About ALU LIKE INC
ALU LIKE, Inc. is a statewide nonprofit founded in 1975 that provides culturally grounded services to Native Hawaiians. The organization’s work spans early childhood and family supports, employment and training, and kupuna (elder) services, delivered through a network of island offices across Hawaiʻi. ALU LIKE administers federally and locally funded programs that focus on nutritional and supportive services for elders, home visiting and parent education for families with young children, workforce development, and community projects in partnership with local funders and schools. In recent years the organization has continued to secure federal and philanthropic awards to sustain Title VI kupuna programs, workforce grants, and collaborative community initiatives.
Notable achievements
50th Anniversary (1975–2025)
Marked five decades of continuous service to Native Hawaiian communities, recognizing sustained program growth and statewide reach since incorporation in 1975.
Administration of Title VI Kupuna Programs
Operates Older Americans Act Title VI programs providing congregate and home-delivered meals, caregiver supports, and social services for Native Hawaiian elders statewide; continued federal awards in 2024–2026 have sustained and expanded these services.
Statewide program partnerships and funding wins
Maintains multi-island program delivery across Hawaiʻi and recent collaborative funding from public and private partners has supported early childhood home visiting (Pūlama I Nā Keiki), employment & training initiatives, and community projects with partners such as Kamehameha Schools and federal workforce programs.
