About WOODBURY AREA HOCKEY CLUB

The Woodbury Area Hockey Club (WAHC) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) youth hockey association serving players who live in or attend school in the Woodbury area (including Newport and Afton) and the surrounding ISD 833 community. WAHC operates programs for boys and girls from age 3 through high school, fields competitive and recreational teams across multiple age levels, and is an affiliate member of Minnesota Hockey (District 8). In recent seasons the club has operated at scale — running roughly 60 teams and serving in the neighborhood of 800–900 skaters while purchasing thousands of hours of local ice time across multiple rinks. WAHC maintains year-to-year operations through program fees and program-service revenue and files annual Form 990s as an active tax-exempt organization. The organization focuses on player development, sportsmanship, and community-based youth athletics while coordinating tryouts, team placement, tournaments, and ice scheduling for the Woodbury area youth hockey community.

Large-scale participation (2024–25 season)

During the 2024–2025 season the club reported roughly 850–864 skaters across about 60 teams (Junior Gold through Termite), demonstrating significant local reach and year-over-year operational scale.
