THE FISHER DEBERRY FOUNDATION
A tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public foundation (tax-exempt since 2003) dedicated to supporting and educating single mothers and their children through grants, scholarships, mentoring and funding for after‑school programs and summer camps.
About THE FISHER DEBERRY FOUNDATION
Founded by longtime Air Force Academy head football coach Fisher DeBerry and his wife Lu Ann, the Foundation focuses on creating opportunities for children from single‑parent households that they might not otherwise receive, with emphasis on parenting development, mentoring and academic support.
Since its founding in 2003 the Foundation reports having awarded more than $1.2 million in grants and scholarships and having sent over 3,000 children from single‑parent families to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) summer camps. The Foundation operates regionally through grant partnerships and annual Coaches for Charity fundraising dinners.
Recent activity (2023–2025) includes regional Coaches for Charity banquets to raise funds and award grants to after‑school programs and camp scholarships; publicly available filings show standard annual revenues and grantmaking activity consistent with a small public foundation.
