About Mercy Housing Southeast

Mercy Housing Southeast (MHSE) is a regional office of Mercy Housing that develops, preserves and operates affordable rental homes and supportive housing across the southeastern United States. The organization pairs housing with resident services—such as education, job skills training and health supports—to help residents build stability and opportunity. MHSE operates a portfolio of properties in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee. Since its founding in 1996 the region has developed or preserved dozens of communities and today reports over 3,000 affordable rental homes serving thousands of residents in the Southeast.

Since 1996, MHSE has developed or preserved 44 properties delivering more than 3,028 affordable rental homes across the Southeast.

Residents served

MHSE houses and serves thousands of people each day—reporting more than 5,000 residents in its communities—through affordable apartments and on-site resident services.

Service-enriched programming

MHSE integrates resident services (education, employment supports, health and wellness programs and supportive services for formerly homeless individuals) into many communities to improve resident outcomes and economic mobility.
