About The New America School

The New America School (NAS) is a nonprofit network of public charter high schools in the Denver metropolitan area focused on serving recent immigrants, English Language Learners (ELLs), and over-age/undercredited students. NAS operates multiple campuses (including Aurora, Thornton, and Lakewood) and provides credit-recovery, English-language instruction, and wraparound supports to help students graduate and transition to college, career training, or employment. In recent years NAS has maintained audited financial statements and continued operations across its campuses while graduating cohorts of students (including an 80-student graduating class in 2025). The organization works with local authorizers and school districts to deliver alternative and charter high school programs tailored to immigrant and ELL populations in metro Denver.
