About SEE A NEED-MEET A NEED

SEE A NEED-MEET A NEED (also presented as SANMAN) is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit that operates an artist residency, gallery programming, workshops, and community-facing creative programming. The organization traces its name to a mentorship program begun by Martin Rogers and has evolved into a foundation that supports emerging and underrepresented creatives in Houston. In recent years SANMAN has run an artist residency (launched in November 2021), hosted solo exhibitions and group shows, provided studio and exhibition space in downtown Houston, and partnered with local organizations to deliver workshops and public programs. The foundation regularly opens calls for residency cohorts, curates exhibitions featuring Houston artists, and produces community events aimed at expanding access to the arts.
