The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA Jacksonville) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cultural institute of the University of North Florida dedicated to contemporary art, with particular emphasis on work created from 1960 to the present. The museum operates a rotating exhibition program, an evolving permanent collection, and a robust suite of education and public programs that serve residents, students, and visitors across Northeast Florida. Founded in 1924 and located in downtown Jacksonville, MOCA positions itself as a regional arts destination and a center for community engagement and arts education.

Centennial Year and Major Anniversary Exhibition

MOCA Jacksonville celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024 with a year-long program of exhibitions and public events, anchored by the 'A Century of Contemporary: 100th Anniversary Exhibition' that traced the institution’s history and public impact.

Project Atrium Commissions with Renowned Artists

The museum continued its Project Atrium series, commissioning high-profile, site-specific installations (including Frank Stella and Rafael Lozano‑Hemmer) that expanded MOCA’s national profile and drew increased downtown visitation.

MOCA maintained and exhibited an evolving permanent collection of roughly 1,200 works while sustaining year-round education programs—school tours, teen programming (MOCA Teen Council), summer camps, and family initiatives—that directly engage K–12 students and young people in the region.
