About WJCT INC
WJCT Public Media is the community-owned public media organization serving Jacksonville and the First Coast since 1958. It operates multiple platforms (Jax PBS television, WJCT News 89.9 radio, digital news products, podcasts, and live events) to deliver news, education, arts, and cultural programming to the region. In recent years WJCT has expanded its local journalism and education work, launching the digital-first Jacksonville Today newsletter and growing local news and reporting capacity under a Local Journalism Initiative. The organization also operates Jax PBS KIDS services, family and community learning workshops, teacher-focused events, and a range of community-facing programs. WJCT combines broadcast reach with digital products and community events to serve both children and caregivers (early learning programs and PBS KIDS initiatives) and the broader public (local news, civic programming, cultural events). Recent impact reports show measurable audience growth and expanded community programming across 2023–2025.
