About WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL OF JACKSONVILLE
The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville is a nonpartisan, membership-based nonprofit that convenes expert speakers, discussion series, and educational programs to deepen public understanding of international affairs in Northeast Florida. The Council runs an active education portfolio — including the Great Decisions discussion program in area high schools and the Admiral Jonathan T. Howe Academic WorldQuest competition — and offers member events, leadership development (Board Fellows), and travel programs to broaden civic and professional engagement. The organization is actively operating and donor-facing: it maintains annual reports and Form 990 filings, has an established membership base and sponsor network (800+ members reported on its About page), and in the last 2–3 years has expanded student programming, hosted nationally recognized journalists and policy experts, and continued to send local Academic WorldQuest winners to the national competition in Washington, D.C.
