The organization focuses on case management, intensive literacy interventions, afterschool enrichment, and workforce-readiness activities to remove barriers to learning such as hunger, homelessness, chronic absenteeism, and unmet mental-health needs. Founded in 1989 and operating since 1990, CIS Jax reports serving thousands of Duval County students each year and has helped more than 111,000 individual students over its multi-decade history. The organization publishes annual impact reports and audited financial statements, operates in partnership with Duval County Public Schools and major local funders, and maintains an active community-facing web presence and volunteer/donor engagement channels.
