About COMMUNITY HOSPICE OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA FOUNDATION FOR CARING INC

The Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Foundation for Caring is the philanthropic arm of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, raising gifts to support patient care, family needs, community programs and capital projects across 16 counties in Northeast and North Central Florida. The foundation generates annual philanthropic support to fund services that are unfunded or under-funded by insurance—such as pediatric palliative care (Community PēdsCare), charity hospice care, bereavement services and advance care planning—ensuring no one is denied care due to inability to pay.

Notable achievements

Dorion Family Pediatric Center opening

The foundation funded and celebrated the opening of the Dorion Family Pediatric Center—a dedicated pediatric hospice and palliative care facility in Jacksonville—bringing Florida’s first center of its kind online (grand opening June 11, 2026).

Measurable patient impact (FY2023/24)

Supported Community Hospice & Palliative Care programs that served approximately 9,746 hospice patients and 9,488 palliative patients in the most recent reporting year, with substantial community grief and bereavement services.

Sustained philanthropic support

The foundation generates roughly $3–$4 million annually to cover unfunded patient needs, equipment, program development and community outreach for hospice and palliative services.
