About NORTH FLORIDA LAND TRUST INC
North Florida Land Trust (NFLT) is a 501(c)(3) land conservation organization founded in 1999 and based in Jacksonville, Florida. The organization works across a core seven-county region and the Ocala-to-Osceola (O2O) wildlife corridor to acquire, hold, and steward ecologically, agriculturally, and historically significant lands through fee ownership and conservation easements.
NFLT manages a portfolio of protected lands and partnerships that support wildlife habitat, water resources, working lands, and community-accessible preserves. Over the last several years NFLT has grown its staff and transaction capacity to respond quickly to land protection opportunities and to manage an expanding set of publicly accessible preserves and conservation projects.
Notable achievements
Large-scale land protection
Has conserved more than 125,000 acres across North Florida, protecting coastal marshes, pine forests, cypress swamps and working lands in its seven-county service area.
Major fee acquisition in Bradford County (2024)
In December 2024 NFLT acquired 1,109 acres in Bradford County to expand the Ocala-to-Osceola (O2O) wildlife corridor and improve connectivity with nearby conserved lands.
Bogey Creek Preserve — public park and expansions
NFLT established Bogey Creek Preserve as its first publicly accessible park and completed subsequent acreage additions (including a four-acre expansion announced in June 2026), creating a community-facing example of local conservation and habitat restoration.
