CLARA WHITE MISSION INC

Clara White Mission, Inc. is a long-established Jacksonville nonprofit that operates a downtown mission, a training center, and Eartha’s Farm & Market to serve people experiencing homelessness, low-income residents, veterans, and others facing barriers to employment. The organization combines daily feeding and grocery distribution with no-cost workforce training (notably a 20-week Culinary Arts program), housing and advocacy services. The Mission reports significant scale and outcomes from its programs: roughly 94,000 breakfasts and meals-to-go served annually, tens of thousands of hours of culinary and agricultural training, and a reported hire rate for graduates. Eartha’s Farm & Market (a 10.5-acre urban farm initiative) targets food-desert neighborhoods and provides fresh produce, training, and community garden programming. In the last 2–3 years the organization continued operating its feeding, housing, and farm programs and pursued public/private partnerships and city grant support for vocational programming. The organization was the subject of local review of city grant oversight in 2024 and subsequently resumed vocational training and expanded farm and market activities while maintaining its historic feeding and housing services.
