Riverside-Avondale Preservation, Inc.

Riverside-Avondale Preservation (RAP) is a long-established 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves as the lead neighborhood preservation and advocacy organization for the Riverside and Avondale historic districts of Jacksonville, Florida. Since its founding in the mid-1970s, RAP focuses on protecting historic architecture and public spaces while promoting local businesses, arts, and cultural activities. RAP runs signature, donor-facing programs and events — including the Riverside Arts Market (weekly), the annual Home Tour, and the neighborhood Luminaria celebration — and partners with local institutions and philanthropic organizations to support preservation, placemaking, and community-building. In the last few years RAP has marked major milestones (50th Home Tour in 2024), launched an organizational endowment, and continued regular programming and community events that demonstrate active operations and ongoing impact.
