About HAWAII HOMEOWNERSHIP CENTER
Hawaii HomeOwnership Center (HHOC) is an active, donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Honolulu that offers homebuyer education, one-on-one homeownership coaching, foreclosure prevention and rental counseling, and related workshops across the state. The Center operates lifetime membership-based coaching and education programs, and maintains affiliated entities (HHOC Mortgage and HHOC Housing & Land Trust) to support affordable financing and home preservation.
In the last 2–3 years HHOC has remained operational statewide — offering free first-time buyer orientations and regular live and online classes, participating in state homeowner assistance outreach, and commissioning independent research on housing barriers in Hawaiʻi. The organization files annual Form 990s and maintains a public web presence with program schedules, resources, and partner/funder information.
HHOC focuses on practical, client-facing services (education, individualized coaching, post-purchase support) that are intended to help first-time buyers and households facing housing stress navigate financing, credit, down-payment options, and available assistance programs. The Center also produces policy-relevant work and convenes stakeholders on issues that affect affordability and access to mortgage finance.
