Hawai‘i Public Health Institute

Hawai‘i Public Health Institute (HIPHI) is a statewide nonprofit public health institute that began in 1996 (originally the Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawai‘i) and expanded in 2012 to become the first and only public health institute serving Hawai‘i. HIPHI serves as a backbone organization and convener, advancing policy, systems and environmental change across the islands through programs in prevention and well-being, community preparedness and resiliency, workforce development, and research. HIPHI operates statewide with programs and coalitions focused on healthy eating + active living, oral health, tobacco prevention, community health worker workforce development, and healthy aging (the Kūpuna Collective). The organization provides technical assistance, fiscal sponsorship, trainings and policy advocacy while publishing annual reports and audited financials to demonstrate transparency and impact.
