About HERA Ovarian Cancer Foundation

Founded in 2002 by Sean Patrick and operating as a registered 501(c)(3), HERA Ovarian Cancer Foundation (also known as HERA Foundation) is a Boulder, Colorado–based nonprofit focused on ovarian cancer research, education, empowerment, and awareness.

HERA funds annual 'outside-the-box' research grants for early-career and translational scientists, runs public education and industry partnership programs to raise symptom awareness, and produces the multi-city Climb4Life fundraising series to support its work.

Notable achievements

Partners in Action / Awareness

Built long-standing collaborations with outdoor and apparel partners to include ovarian cancer symptom hangtags and designated give‑back products, expanding public reach beyond traditional health channels.

Climb4Life Fundraising Series

Launched a multi-city annual climbing fundraiser that combines clinics, community activities, and live events—recent Climb4Life campaigns (2024 and 2025) raised community support for HERA research and education programs.
