About THE COUNCIL ON RECOVERY

The Council on Recovery is a Houston-based nonprofit that has provided prevention, education, treatment, and recovery support services for people affected by substance use since 1946. The organization offers a full continuum of care including in-school prevention curricula, family-focused programs (including the Cradles Project), treatment navigation, recovery coaching, and peer specialist training. The Council operates a campus in Houston and delivers telehealth, community-based, and on-site services designed to be accessible regardless of ability to pay. In recent years the organization has expanded funded programming and professional training (including Recovery Support Peer Specialist trainings) while publishing consolidated financial statements and Form 990s to demonstrate fiscal transparency.
