Our mission is to build communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability through a unique model of care called WholeLife®. By embracing the whole person, The Women's Home prepares women and their families to become empowered and productive forces in their communities.
About THE WOMEN'S HOME
The Women's Home is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides long-term residential behavioral health treatment, permanent supportive housing, and a collaborative service center using its WholeLife® model to address emotional, physical, vocational, social, spiritual and financial wellness. The organization operates a 50-bedroom residential treatment program in Montrose, two permanent supportive housing communities in Spring Branch (Jane Cizik Garden Place and Adele & Ber Pieper Family Place), and the Mabee WholeLife® Service Center which coordinates primary care, behavioral health, workforce development and family supports. The Women's Home focuses on stabilizing women and families with histories of substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and housing instability, and reports multi-year service metrics showing hundreds of residents served and thousands of service encounters through its WholeLife Collaborative.
Notable achievements
SAMHSA Recovery Innovation Challenge Winner
Selected as one of 10 national winners in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Recovery Innovation Challenge for its recovery-focused programming and innovations in integrated behavioral health (announced in late 2022).
Permanent Supportive Housing Portfolio
Built and operates two Spring Branch permanent supportive housing communities (Jane Cizik Garden Place and Adele & Ber Pieper Family Place) that together provide over 170 affordable, supportive units and on-site case management for formerly homeless and low-income tenants.
WholeLife® Service Impact
Through the WholeLife® model and the Mabee WholeLife® Service Center, the organization reported serving thousands of individuals annually across primary care, behavioral health, workforce programming and youth services (the annual report documents several hundred to thousands of service encounters in recent years).
