About National Jewish Health
Founded in 1899 and based in Denver, National Jewish Health is a nonprofit academic medical center dedicated to diagnosis, treatment and research for respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders. It combines specialty clinical care with laboratory and clinical research and draws patients nationally and internationally.
The institution operates as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit and maintains an integrated structure of patient care, research (basic, translational and clinical) and professional and patient education, including an Advanced Diagnostic Laboratories unit that develops clinical tests.
In the last 2–3 years National Jewish Health has continued to publish clinical research, deploy new molecular diagnostics, and launch clinical trials and translational studies addressing food allergies, genetic lung disease (alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency) and implant-related immune reactions.
