About DENVER CIVIC VENTURES INC

Denver Civic Ventures (DCV) is the charitable, public-purpose affiliate of the Downtown Denver Partnership that focuses on place-making, public events, and downtown economic and community development. DCV raises philanthropic support, organizes signature public events, and runs programs that activate the public realm to drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and build civic pride. In recent years DCV has produced large public festivals and signature events (including the long-running Parade of Lights and year-round winter activations), partnered with the City of Denver on urban forestry and streetscape initiatives, and supported projects to improve multimodal connections and the downtown public environment. 9NEWS Parade of Lights (signature event)

Produces Colorado’s long-running Parade of Lights as a free public event that draws large multi-generational audiences (over 200,000 spectators reported in recent editions) and secures corporate sponsorship to keep participation free and culturally diverse.

Place-making & public-realm initiatives

Leads downtown placemaking programs—including seasonal activations, downtown trails and summer events—that increase pedestrian activity, support local merchants, and advance downtown beautification and safety projects.

Urban forest & streetscape projects

Partners with city agencies and funders on urban forestry and streetscape efforts (including initiatives to grow downtown tree canopy and plan the 5280 trail) to improve environmental quality and walkability in the center city.
